Happy Birthday, Mommy!
Dear William,
Well, you do have your double ear infection again. The doctor has now put you on a 4th different antibiotic! They say if this one doesn't work, they are going to recommend we see an E.N.T. We hope you are feeling better soon. You are such a happy little man!
Tonight, Mommy and Daddy took you to Chevy's for Mommy's birthday. You were very good at dinner and enjoyed looking around at all the lights. You especially liked it when Mommy got the video camera out and tried to get you to say "Margarita!" Here is a photo:

Da Da Da Da
Dear William,
It seems like forever since Mommy posted to the blog. It seems like our little family just gets busier and busier. You are more and more active, and with that, more and more fun. You find the pretty much everything hilarious, which makes Mommy and Daddy think everything is hilarious too! Since there is so much to write about, I’ll just make a list:
1. Mommy and Daddy took you to Chicago to see Babcia and Grandpa Fuerst, Uncle Jay and Kerry and Uncle Eric. Babcia has set up a crib and changing area in Uncle Eric’s old room (Uncle Eric moved downstairs) so now you have a place to call your own. You have a baby sized work bench that we keep at Babcia’s house and you LOVE it. The work bench keeps your attention for a long time. Longer than any other toy you have! It was a short visit because we didn’t have a long weekend, but Mommy and Daddy think it is important to visit as much as we can so you can grow up knowing both sides of your family very well. On the way home from Chicago, we met up with Mommy and Daddy’s friends, Kate Lang and Mike Meyer. We had lunch at a sit-down restaurant (Mommy can’t think of the name…) and you did pretty good. No major meltdowns that Mommy remembers, anyway. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
2. On the way to Chicago we listened to your Sesame Street CD. We have been singing the Cookie Monster song since you were about a week old, but now we have many more silly songs to sing. We sing “waba waba waba,” “the count song” and “put down the ducky,” just to name a few.
3. You are almost crawling! Right now you are able to get up on all fours, but then you don’t know what to do. You pretty much army crawl in circles. You are slightly mobile, but get frustrated quickly. You are going to figure it out soon though, and then Mommy and Daddy will be in trouble!
4. We can make you laugh hysterically by blowing raspberries in your armpits. Also, Daddy has discovered that you are ticklish on the sides of your belly. It is so fun to make you laugh! You laughing is the most wonderful sound Mommy has ever heard!
5. You LOVE playing peek-a-boo. You particularly like it when Mommy or Daddy get completely out of your site and pop out of a doorway or from behind a piece of furniture. So FUN!
6. You are babbling like crazy. You say “Dadadadda” and other sounds. You can make the “mmm” sound, but aren’t quite saying “momma” yet. Mommy has decided to work on “Momma” on the way to day care in the morning. Mommy repeats it all the way there! You are going to get it sooner rather than later.
7. Mommy and Daddy took you to the St. Louis Zoo last weekend. The weather was beautiful, so we had a pretty good time. We went to see the penguins and the Children’s Zoo. You enjoyed looking at the other people and the children, but really weren’t too interested in the animals. Mommy and Daddy figure if we take you a few more times, you will start to get more excited about the animals. It took you a while to figure out that Phoebe is hilarious…we just know you are going to LOVE the zoo. Here are some pictures from the day, most of you looking anywhere but at the animals, but cute, none-the-less:
8. We have had several warm days lately (although, not today) and have spent some time playing in the basement to stay cool. You just play away and don’t really seem to mind the location change. We figure once you are mobile we’ll be hanging out down there more anyway, so it is a good introduction.
9. You are starting to reach for Mommy and Daddy to pick you up. In general, you are starting to communicate more with us. You tell us you want to go in your bouncy seat by trying to jump on our laps and you tell us when you are done with bedtime reading by whining, so we put you down. You are really very smart. We love you!
10. You spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Oesch’s last Saturday night. Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner. Grandma said you guys had lots of fun and you went to bed easy and slept all night. You are such a laid back little man! Grandma loves having you over and Mommy can tell you like exploring the neat toys she has.
11. You have been splashing A LOT in the tub lately. You like it when you get squirted with the squirty bath toys and it seems your goal is to get all the water OUT of the tub! Mommy has been soaked a couple times and had to sop up water on the bathroom floor. Such a mess, but oh-so fun! You are AWESOME.
12. We are a little worried that your ear infection may be back because you had the most epic puke every last night while Mommy was a church. You puked carrots and spinach ALL OVER yourself, Daddy, the recliner and the throw pillow. Daddy had to take a shower after everything was cleaned up. After the throw-up, Daddy gave you your bath and you went to bed and slept all night. Mommy had to actually wake you up in the morning. You seemed fine today though, until this evening when you were very fussy. Mommy and Daddy are going to take you to the doctor tomorrow to make sure everything is okay.
13. Tomorrow is Mommy’s birthday and the three of us are going to go out for dinner. Mommy gets to pick the restaurant, but hasn’t decided yet. On Sunday, we are going out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant with Papa and Yaya.
The hard part about not posting so often is that Mommy is sure to forget lots of stuff. Hopefully if something is forgotten, Mommy remembers it later. Mommy and Daddy love you so much and don’t want to forget a minute of you growing up!
We love you.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Seven Months Old!
Dear William,
You turned seven months old last week. You are getting so big! Here are a some of the things you've been up to lately:
Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
You turned seven months old last week. You are getting so big! Here are a some of the things you've been up to lately:
- You can now sit up by yourself! Mommy and Daddy still put a boppy or other support around you when you are out of our reach, but you don't need it. While you are sitting, you lean forward and reach for things in front of you. Your play has gotten a lot more active now that your sitting. You bang toys together and close the animals in the "peek-a-boo" toy. You also can stand if Mommy or Daddy hold your hands. You are so strong!
- You are rolling over to get to things now. It won't be long before you can roll across the room.
- We've switched you into the stationary car seat. Mommy could barely lift your other car seat in and out of the CRV. We call you "The Tank" because you are SOLID! You weigh a lot more than you look. You weighed 18 lbs 5 ounces today at the doctor.
- You sleep with your butt in the air. It is seriously the cutest thing ever. Mommy wishes she could get a picture without waking you up!
- You reach for our hands now. If we put our hand out in front of you, you put your tiny little hand in ours. It makes Mommy's heart melt!
- You LOVE it when Daddy tosses your big plush taggie football at you. Usually it hits you in the face or the chest, but you just laugh and laugh.
- You love it when Mommy plays fetch with Phoebe. Mommy has been sitting on the floor with you between her legs and tossing Phoebe's "Fishy" back and forth. Phoebe loves the game, and you think it is hilarious. So fun!
- Mommy has changed her work ours so she can drop you off at day care a half hour later, that way your room teacher is there and we can take you right to your room. You are loved at the day care center, because when Mommy and Daddy drop you off, the teachers fight to see who gets to hold you. You are definitely popular. They go on and on about how lucky Mommy and Daddy are. We say we know how lucky we are. You are so wonderful!
- You are making a razz sound, that sounds like Chewbacca from Star Wars. You do it continuously and loudly. Mommy and Daddy have been trying to get it on video for about a week, but every time you see the camera you stop making the sound. We finally got a very short video of it the other day.
- You've been sick...AGAIN. You came down with pink eye again last Sunday, so Mommy and Daddy took you to the doctor on Monday since you were due to go in for a re-check on your ears anyway. You have already been on antibiotics twice for this ear infection! Previously, Dr. Eaton said your ears were no longer infected, but that the left one still had fluid, so it might get infected again. We were supposed to monitor you for fever, but otherwise not bring you back for a re-check again until your 9 month appointment. Well, Friday night you had a MAJOR throw-up (more on that in a minute) and we took your temperature. You had a fever of 101! Saturday morning you would drink your formula, but you didn't want any solid food. Mommy took you to the doctor and you have two "horrible" ear infections again. Horrible was the doctors word. So now you are on a third antibiotic. Mommy and Daddy hope the ear infections clear up when the weather warms up!
- So, back to the major throw up... You were in your jumparoo, and you threw up so much there was a two foot diameter puddle underneath the jumparoo. Plus, you threw up all over the part that lights up and plays music. You basically killed the jumparoo. Daddy tried to fix it, and said, "There's a circuit board covered in puke!" That is definitely the funniest parenting quote we've had so far. And the messiest throw up..... It's a good thing you are so cute!
Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
