Watching You Fly

Dear William,

Mommy listens to the St. Louis Christian radio station a lot (99.1 Joy FM.)  Well, you do to, when you are in the car with Mommy.  Last week, we heard this song on my way to work and of course Mommy thought of you.  I pray every day that I'm being the kind of mother that will encourage you to fly.

Love,
Mommy

Find Your Wings by Mark Harris

It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
                                                 will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
                                               You're walking in the Truth
And if I never told you
                                                    I want you to know
                                                   As I watch you grow
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings
                                                 May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
                                                  Guide you on your way
                                                May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
                                                Oh, but more than memories
I pray that God will fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings
It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

Dancing with God

Dear William,

I got this email today from Dadda's Aunt Sue and wanted to share it with you.  Mommy and Daddy hope you dance!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Dancing With God
When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead,
nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow
with the music,
And everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that,
and lets the other lead,
Both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
Or by pressing Lightly in
one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body,
moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
And attentiveness from one person
And gentle guidance and
skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G," I thought of God, followed by "U" and "I."
"God, "U" and "I" dance."
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head,
I became willing to trust
That I would get guidance
about my life.
Once again,
I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is
that God's blessings
And mercies are upon you
on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God,
as God abides in you.
Dance together with God,
trusting God to lead
And to guide you through
each season of your life.
And I Hope You Dance !

Father's Day Weekend

Dear William,

We had LOTS of fun this Father's Day Weekend.  We basically spent the whole weekend with family.  Mommy's Aunt Chris and Uncle Ken were in town again from Texas, so we got to see them twice.  We celebrated Father's Day and June Birthdays with Grandma and Grandpa Oesch, had Father's Day with Papa...AND, you went swimming for the first time at Aunt Kristen's parents house.  What a wonderful weekend!  Here are some pictures:

Here are some pics of you doing your favorite thing right now, looking out the front window:
