Dear William,
You are 8 months old today, which Mommy and Daddy just can't believe. You are growing so FAST. You weighed in at the doctor at 19 pounds, so you haven't gained much weight, but you are a lot longer then your 7 month b-day. Here are some of your "8" pictures:
You are learning new things every day and some of your toys can hold your attention for a long time, like your tool bench. Mommy put together a foam puzzle mat for the family room, so you like to play there now. Phoebe lays next to you while you play. So far she has only knocked you over once, and you didn't even get upset about it. Here are some pictures of you playing:
You still have a double ear infection, but last week Thursday and Friday the doctor gave you antibiotic shots to try to clear it up. We have an appointment with Dr. Cleary, an ENT for April 18th. It looks like you may have to get tubs in your ears to help clear up the infection. Mommy and Daddy just want you to feel better soon!
You now can say "Da Da" and "Num Num." We are not sure you know exactly what Dada means yet, but you seem to say it intentionally and not just as babble. You say "num num" when you eat, just like Cookie Monster! It is really cute. You also like to say "ahhhhh" and have Mommy or Daddy pat our hands over your mouth to make an Indian sound. You get really loud with it!
You are finally getting the hang of eating baby puffs and Cheerios. For a while, you would put them in your mouth, choke, and then make an epic puke mess. Let Mommy tell you that there is definitely a purpose to the pockets at the bottom of the bibs! You seem to like the yogurt puffs the best, but we are just starting to try new things.
You are almost ready to crawl. You can get up on all fours, but for the most part you just flop like a fish. You still spin and circles and have figured out how to get from here to there by spinning. You are inventive, that's for sure.
Last week was Mommy's birthday, so Papa and Ya Ya came to take us out to dinner last Sunday. We went to Olive Garden, which was very yummy. You decided you were tired right before our food came, so Daddy had to put you in the sleeper hold to get you to take a nap. Ya Ya fed you your bottle when we got back. Here is a picture:
Yesterday we had Mommy's birthday party at Grandma and Grandpa's. You finally got to meet baby Emma and all the cousins were together for the first time. Grandpa made steak and potatoes. So yummy! Here are some photos:
Mommy and Daddy love you very much!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
