Mommy and Daddy got big news this week....You are moving up to the "big kid" side of the infant room. To move to the big kid room a baby has to be sitting unsupported, or close to it. You are very close to sitting on your own, so your teachers have decided to start transitioning you over to the older room. You will spend about 1/2 your days over with the big kids and on February 14, you will officially be attending the infant room (as opposed to the newborn room, where you are now.) Mommy and Daddy are very excited for you! Every day this week when Mommy has picked you up, you have been happy, and the big kid room teachers (Jennifer and Ashley) just go on and on about how much fun you have. Apparently you just laugh and laugh and laugh when another child is near you. Mommy and Daddy think your laugh and happiness are infectious! You seem to make everyone around you smile. We are so lucky to have you! We hope you never loose the happiness that you have and that you bring to others! Right now, you are the smallest kid in the "big kid" infant room, so the teachers were worried that you would be scared, but Mommy told them that you pretty much constantly have a big black poodle in your face, and you think Phoebe is hilarious, so of course you are not scared! I'm sure we'll have many more stories as you are exposed to the experiences that the infant room has to offer. You are growing so fast!
You are eating baby food like a mad-man! Sometimes you wait patiently with your mouth open for us to put more in, but other times you grunt and moan for us to hurry! So far you have tried peas, green beans and squash, and you like all three. (Actually, we are pretty sure you just like food in general, so we'll see if we find one you don't like!) Mommy is super-excited that you like green beans because now we can out-vote Daddy and have them every night with dinner! Ha Ha, just kidding. (Green beans are Mommy's favorite!)
Here is a video of you rolling over:
And here is one of you smiling at Phoebe, during one of the few times that she sits still:
And here are a couple of you going to town in your jumparoo:
- We play peek-a-boo. You just started thinking peek-a-boo is hilarious last week. You giggle when Mommy covers her face and squeal when we say "peek-a-boo!"
- We stretch your arms out and say "SOOO Big!"
- Mommy sits on the floor with you sitting between her legs and moves your arms to the motions of "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes." Your favorite part of the song is when we say "Eyes and nose and mouth and ears." You get a silly grin on your face during the song that is just so precious!
- Mommy says, "uh-oh"...."uh-oh"...."uh-oh" and you have very quickly learned that this inevitably leads to a tickle attack, so now you start giggling when Mommy says "uh-oh." I don't even have to actually tickle you. Hilarious!
Papa came over for dinner last night to keep us company and have play time with you. Here is a video of Papa feeding you squash, your new favorite food!
Lastly, two weeks ago it snowed 12" at our house! It snowed so much that the snow touched Phoebe's belly when she was out in the yard! Daddy made a pile of snow at the end of the driveway that is almost taller than the mailbox. Here are some pictures.....
Mommy and Daddy love watching you grow. You are our pride and joy!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
Yay for the big boy side! We love you!
